What is Sustainable Agriculture? Sustainable Agriculture in the Southwest presents unique challenges due to water, salinity, and harsh climate. This workshop is designed to teach practical and successful sustainable practices. Research and education to further define best practices is encouraged through agencies like Western SARE.   • Western SARE Workshop

December 9 from 8 to 4:30 at the Best Western Mission Inn in Las Cruces,NM

SARE is a program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture that functions through competitive grants conducted cooperatively by farmers, ranchers, researchers and ag professionals to advance farm and ranch systems that are profitable, environmentally sound and good for communities. The state of New Mexico is part of the western region SARE program and is part of New Mexico State University. Each December we host a sustainable workshop in different communities in New Mexico. This year our workshop will focus on Integrated Pest Management and will be held in Las Cruces. Western SARE is a partnership and with YOUR voices and ideas we can make this workshop a great networking and educational event. Please MARK YOUR CALENDARS for December 9.
