Krehbiel Hired as Assistant Professor in NMSU's Animal Sciences Department

LAS CRUCES -- Clinton Krehbiel began work Aug. 1 as an assistant professor of ruminant animal nutrition in New Mexico State University's animal and range sciences department.

Krehbiel, a Kansas native, will teach both undergraduate and graduate classes in NMSU's College of Agriculture and Home Economics. His courses will focus on livestock nutrition, emphasizing grazing and harvested forages. He also will conduct cow/calf range nutrition research.

He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in animal science from Kansas State University and a doctorate in animal science from the University of Nebraska. As a doctoral student, he conducted research on the starch digestion of high-grain diets in ruminant animals.

Before coming to NMSU, Krehbiel served a postdoctoral fellowship at the Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center in Clay Center, Neb. He also was a supervisor of the University of Nebraska's ruminant nutrition laboratory.

He is a member of the American Society of Animal Science and the agricultural honor society Gamma Sigma Delta.
