The Stephen W. And Robert E. Roberts Memorial Staff Award

Description:
Established in 1983, an annual $750 cash award is provided from the Stephen W. and Robert E. Roberts Memorial Endowment fund in recognition of dedicated, outstanding service to the university. The Advisory Council on Administrative Policy has the final responsibility for the selection of the recipient for this award.

Eligibilty:
There are two basic eligibility criteria. Recipients shall have:

  • Non-faculty status and not be members of either the Administrative or Academic Dean's Council.
  • Five or more consecutive years of service with the university.

In addition, the following traits are desirable for employees to become nominees for this award:

    • A highly motivated person who is a self-starter.
    • A person who exhibits dedication to the university.
    • A person who will remain at the university after receiving the award and serve to influence others through behavior that exemplifies sincerity, motivation, and dedication.
    • A person who not only performs a specific job, but who serves the university and community as a responsible citizen.

Because of the difficulty of selecting finalists from both the professional and classified ranks, the Advisory Council has decided, with Mr. Roberts concurrence, to separate the classified and professional awards. Two out of three years the award will go to classified employees; and, of course, the third year the award will go to a professional employee.

Nomination Deadline:
Friday, August 27, 2004 - no later than 5:00 p.m.

Nominations:
Nominations are currently being sought for the Stephen W. and Robert E. Roberts Memorial Staff Award. This year the award will be presented to a Classified employee who meets the criteria as listed above.

The nomination form has been developed by a committee of the Advisory Council on Administrative Policy to aid administrative units in selecting worthy nominees for this fine award.
