We Missed You at the Dance! We waited, we watched our clocks, twiddled our thumbs, then finally decided we were going to have to have fun without you.
Still remembering something about that, we rose to the task, and the First Annual College of Agriculture and Home Economics Homecoming Dance was deemed a huge sucess. It was indeed a homecoming. Old friends visited and laughed and told wild stories on those of you who were not there-and danced like we had good sense. Joe Delk and his band played a perfect mix of music old and new to a crowd of about 150 whose ages were as varied as the tunes. Dan Delaney donated a trip for 6 to Mexico, the lucky winner of which was an alumna / from Dallas (she suddenly had a LOT of new friends at the dance!). The icing on the cake was the gorgeous weather. Could the evening have been any better? Only with more of you there.
It was so much fun we're going to do it again, and we hope you'll plan for it during next year's Homecoming festivities (if for no other reason that to defend yourself!). We will post the date on the Alumni website as soon as the date has been confirmed.
If you would like to help plan this shindig or get involved with other CAHE Alumni and Friends committees (see Chapter Committees), we welcome all volunteers. Give Jacquie Porter a call at 646-2584 for more information. We have lots of new CAHE Alumni activities brewing and would love to tell you all about them.
