Interior Chapparal
(Manzanita, Mountain Mahogany)
This habitat occupies the lower slopes of desert mountain ranges above the grasslands of the upper bajadas and below Madrean and great basin woodlands. Interior Chaparral is grading into Madrean Woodland on the upper slopes in this picture. Characteristic vegetation includes Pointleaf Manzanita, Mountain Mahogany , and Wavy Leaf Oak .
