To be admitted to the graduate program in Agricultural and Extension Education, the student must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with an academic record that clearly demonstrates ability to pursue graduate studies in this field. As a general rule, applicants will not be admitted to the program unless they have a 3.0 (out of a possible 4.0) cumulative point-hour ratio for all previous academic work, though the records of non-traditional students will not be examined strictly from an academic perspective.

Graduate Courses

The AXED Department offers a wide variety of graduate courses in agricultural and extension education.

AXED Graduate Program

The department offers major work for a Master of Arts in Agricultural and Extension Education. The degree can be obtained with public school emphasis in agriculture education; extension education; international extension and development; and adult nonformal education. A minor is available to students completing major course work in other departments. Students should contact the department of the desired minor for specific course requirements.

A minimum of 30 semester credits (including 4-6 credits of thesis) is required under the thesis plan. A non thesis plan is available and requires 32 semester credits of course work, including 3-4 credits of AXED 598 - Creative Component. Both plans require a final oral examination.
