CAHE Ambassadors
Cody Terpening
My name is Cody Terpening and I was born and raised in Carlsbad, NM. I am currently a junior at New Mexico State University majoring in Animal Science. I chose Animal Science because I was raised with a strong background in agriculture. My family owns both a ranch and farm, which served as the setting where I could learn and fall in love with animals of different species as well as the farming that was done to feed the animals. So when I started to get ready for college it only seemed fitting that I follow as a second generation to come to NMSU and enter the College of Agriculture and Home Economics (CAHE). The fact that CAHE was ranked near the top in the country for many of their fields also made it a very easy choice for me.
Another reason that that I decided to attend NMSU and enter CAHE is that I was fairly close to home. I didn't want to go very far away because my family has always been important to me. The Animal Science department offers exactly what I was looking for when I came to college. It has a wide range of classes that allow me the opportunity to increase my knowledge on the subject. One of the biggest things that I enjoy about this department is that the professors are willing to take the time to help you understand the topics they are covering.
