My name is Clinton Roof and I was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I am a senior majoring in Animal Science in the College of Agriculture and Home Economics (CAHE) at New Mexico State University. I decided to sudy Animal Science, partly because I wanted to be in a field that would allow me to be in the outdoors and learn more about animals and partly because it is one of the top ranked programs in the US. I wanted to study a field in Agriculture because with out it we would have nothing.

I am frequently asked, "why did you go to school so close to home?" Well getting an education should not be a matter of distance from home, but a matter of quality, which is what is offered at NMSU. I admit I attended originally for the scholarships, which helped a lot. But then I learned what all the CAHE had to offer, from the experienced and knowledgeable faculty, to the career oriented curriculum that opens students to a high demand job market upon graduation. But what I found out I liked the most about the CAHE is that students are treated like people and not like numbers, something that is not common among big campus universities.
